Functions of the Planning Board and Zoning Board
The Planning Board is responsible for preparing the Master Plan of the Township of Hillside; the Planning Board has the authority to hear applications for minor and major sub-divisions, as well as minor and major site plans. The Planning Board is scheduled to meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.
The Zoning Board of Adjustment has the authority to hear applications relating to use variances, interpretation of the zoning ordinances and appeals of the zoning officer’s decision; all powers of the Zoning Board are in accordance with 40:55D-69. The Zoning Board is scheduled to meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month.
